About Factorymaker 

factorymaker is a Vienna-based deep tech company transforming industrial building and production planning with AI-powered generative design and optimization tools. 
In addition, factorymaker’s digital platform supports industrial companies and general planners in efficiently planning and operating their factories and logistics centers. 

Your Role 

We are looking for a Frontend Developer to design and implement the user-facing components of our deep tech SaaS platform using ThreeJS and Mapbox. 

You will work on interactive, data-driven applications that enable users to explore, analyze, and optimize industrial layouts and buildings. 

This role combines modern web technologies, performance optimization, and a strong sense for usability to deliver interfaces that make complex processes simple and accessible. 

Responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain frontend applications using React and threeJS. 

• Collaborate with backend developers and computational designers to integrate APIs, algorithms, and visualization components 

• Implement interactive dashboards, visualization tools, and 3D interfaces (e.g. for layout exploration, 3D modelling) 

• Ensure scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code 

• Work closely with the Product Owner to translate requirements into intuitive user experiences 

• Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, and responsiveness 

• Contribute to the design system and UI consistency across the platform 

Requirements (Must-Haves) 

• 3+ years of experience developing with ThreeJS 

• Strong skills in React and TypeScript 

• Proven 3D visualization experience in the browser (Three.js/WebGL): scene graph basics, materials, cameras/controls, performance tuning. 

• Map-based UI experience: Mapbox GL (layers, sources, projections) and basic geospatial ops (turf.js). 

• Solid API integration (REST), and state management patterns (React Context). 

• Strong focus on UI/UX best practices and usability 

• Fluent in English (and basic German) 

Nice-to-Have 

• IFC/BIM experience (That Open, IFC.js or similar viewers). 

• Experience with 2D canvas interaction (Konva.js, Canvas) and CAD-like editing (snapping, vertex/edge manipulation, measurements). 

• Familiarity with design systems (Material UI) 

• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Cypress) 

• Experience in industrial or technical applications (e.g., BIM viewers, CAD-like tools) 

• Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices

The minimum salary according to the Collective Agreement 2025 for Employees of Companies in the Field of Services in Automatic Data Processing and Information Technology is classified under ST1 standard level at € 3,843 gross per month. Overpayment is possible depending on qualifications and experience.
